Mr. William Lee Drake

Obituary:

On Saturday November 17, 2018, Heaven gained another angel as Mr William Lee Drake, Sr. “Bill”, age 84, Resident of Brodnax went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was a retired Navy Vet of 22years, Civil Service Employee for 17years and the widower of Mary Jane Drake. He is survived by his son David Alan Drake of Henderson, NV, Six daughters Debra Ann Mattix of Middleburg, FL, Sherry Lynn Wilson and husband Les, Barbara Nell Gallagher and husband Jimmy, Edna “Edy” Ledonne Matuszak and husband Leo, and Janallee Ella McElligott all of Virginia Beach, Shirley Hamlin of Warwick RI and Brother Thomas A. Drake of Grand Rapids, Michigan; along with many loving and devoted grandchildren, great grandchildren, great- great grandchilden and many wonderful friends. Mr Drake was predeceased by two sons William Henry Drake, William Lee Drake, Jr. and brother Richard H. Drake.A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday November 24th at 12:30pm at Lake Gaston Christian Life Centre followed by American Legion Post 79 Military Honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Drake's name to Lake Gaston Christian Life Centre at 1411 Robinson Ferry Rd., Ebony VA 23845.
