Obituary:

Beverley Jean Bale, daughter of Dorothy Mary Remlinger and Robert William Bale, Sr., loving mother, grandmother, and breast cancer survivor, passed away on December 10, 2018. With the exception of a 5-year period in Fort Lauderdale, Florida as a child, Beverley was a lifelong resident of Maryland in Prince George’s, Montgomery, Calvert, and Anne Arundel counties. A graduate of Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, she went on to earn her Associates Degree at Prince George’s Community College, and her Bachelors Degree at University of Maryland University College. She was an administrator to the Prince George’s House of Delegation of Maryland under the direction of Chariman Hon. Frederick Rummage. She went on to run Prince George’s County’s state legislative office for then County Executive Paris N. Glendening. After enjoying her home next to the water in Edgewater, Maryland for many years, Beverley retired in 2006 and relocated near Lake Gaston in Virginia. Throughout her life, Beverley enjoyed camping, writing, ceramics, painting, cooking and always loved a good crab feast on the Chesapeake Bay. Whenever possible, Beverley would help those in need. She was an animal lover and rescued and loved many animals, in addition to her dogs, Hunts, Happy, Freddie, Butchie, and her parrot, Maggie. Beverley is survived by her daughter, Vanessa (Smith) Duchman and her husband Paul; son, Scot Smith and his wife Donna; grandson Paul Duchman, Jr.; and brother, R. William Bale, Jr. and his wife Sheila Ellington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lake Country SPCA, 11764 US-15, Clarksville, VA 23927 or www.lakecountryspca.org.
