Obituary:

Mrs. Elsie Mae Northington, age 79, of South Hill, died January 5, 2019. She was the widow of Leonard Murphy “Buddy” Northington, Jr. and the bookkeeper for R.O. Gentry well drilling. Mrs. Northington is survived by her daughter, Cindy Barnette and husband Terry of Fancy Gap, VA; her son, Leonard Lee Northington, lll of South Hill; two grandsons: Andrew Towery of La Crosse and Jacob Towery of Fancy Gap, VA and two special nephews: Ronnie Jackson of Chapel Hill, NC and Jeff Jackson of Blackstone. A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday January 9th at 2:00 P.M. in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 12 noon in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church at 410 N. Mecklenburg Avenue, South Hill, VA 23970 or to the National Alzheimers Association through their website, www.alz.org. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com.     Elsie was one of the sweetest ladies on earth. I am sad that her family has lost her, but
    happy for her. I know she is rejoicing with her Lord and Savior and is once again with “Buddy”. May God go with each member of her family in the months ahead without her. Lots of love from our family to yours.
