Obituary:

Mr. Stephen King Reed, age 84, of Littleton, NC died Tuesday February 26, 2019 in VCU/MCV hospital, Richmond. He was a Marine (1953 - 1957) Korean Conflict veteran and a machinist with Intelligent Machine Research from 1958 until 1974 and the Federal Government with the Naval Research Lab from 1974 until he retired in September 1990. He lived in the Northern Virginia area until moving to Lake Gaston in 1992. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, Ebony, Va. , Eaton ’s Ferry AARP and the Lake Gaston Computer Club.
Mr. Reed is survived by his wife Marilyn Reed, his daughter Deborah L. Reed, grandchildren ; Crystal Zusmer and husband Dean, Robert (Rob) Norton and wife Julie, Nick Norton and wife Jessica, Step-sons; William Frank and wife Laura and David Frank and wife Paula, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 2, 2019 , at 3:30 P.M. in Prospect United Methodist Church, Ebony, Va. . Memorial contributions may be made to Prospect UMC building fund, P. O. Box 25, Ebony, Va. 23845.
