Mrs. Selena House Ezell
July 31, 1934 - April 3, 2018
Mrs. Selena House Ezell, 83, of South Hill, died peacefully Tuesday, April 3, 2018. She was an extraordinary homemaker and the widow of Clarence William Ezell, her beloved husband of 57 years. Throughout her life, "Lena" danced, joked, and cooked her way into the hearts of those around her.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa E. Brooks (Al) of Lunenburg; her daughter-in-law, Dana P. Ezell of Brodnax; one granddaughter, Lynne E. Clary (Chad) of White Plains; two grandsons, Matthew S. Ezell (Christine) of Ebony, and Joseph P. Brooks of Lunenburg; four great-grandchildren, Emma Caroline, Evan Matthew, Leah Isabelle, and John Douglas; and half-sister, Jenny K. Jones of Gasburg. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Douglas W. Ezell, two brothers, Johnny Floyd House, and Lonnie House, Jr., and a sister, Virginia Bell House.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 5th, at 2:00 p.m. at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment in LaCrosse Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of the service. The family requests memorial considerations be directed to the South Hill Volunteer Fire Department, 114 N. Brunswick Avenue, South Hill, VA 23970.
