Mr. Charles Franklin Brinegar
August 12, 1930 - September 13, 2018
Charles F. Brinegar, 88, of Ocala, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday,
September 13, 2018 under the care of Hospice of Marion County.
Chuck was born in Oolitic, IN on August 12, 1930 and graduated from Owenburg High School in 1948. He immediately joined the US Navy, then met and married Rosie Lee Taylor in 1955. Through his nearly 30 years of service, Chuck travelled the world and retired as a US Navy Master Chief. They retired to Ocala from Lemoore, CA in June 1975. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting was a favorite hobby. Chuck is survived by his wife, Modena Brinegar, Ocala; son Charles F. Brinegar, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Crystal River; sisters Violet Feirrell and Carole Powers, four grandchildren - CJ, Matthew, Lauren, Michelle; and 3 step-grandchildren Kelly, Lee, and Shakota. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents James and Audrey Brinegar and his first wife. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 3:00 p.m. at HIERS-BAXLEY FUNERAL SERVICES, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Private interment will take place in Virginia on Saturday, October 6. In Canaan Cemetery with American Legion Post 79 Military Honors.
