  1. If only

If only I was there for you when the hours were getting small.
If only I could be like you and help make others tall.
If only I could act like you and help all that you see.
If only I could live like you and be everything you mean.
But I can do all of these things because you are mine.
I am proud of you, you give me my bright shine.
I inherited your smile as I hope you see.
And now that you’re in Heaven I hope you look down on me.

This is an original poem I made for my grandpa Hite. Being his granddaughter and the only girl out if four boys I didn’t really have to compete for his attention. I was in Florida when he passed and I heard the news when I got right back. I love you Paw-Paw. Thank you for loving me…

  2. The Greatest People I’ve Ever Meet

Mama Hite and Papa Hite is what I would call them. They raised me and showed me how to speak English. Made mac and cheese with hotdogs and somehow my ketchup always got
mixed in with my hotdogs, but I still ate it. Papa Hite would always get his butterscotch candy. I guess that’s why I became such a big fan of it. As well as apples with peanut butter, but not any apple, no green apples. Heaven gained one of the greatest souls I’ve ever met. I love you with all my heart Papa Hite, I know now you are in a safe place and with Mama Hite. 💖
