Obituary:

Mrs. Mable Cox Ellis, age 92, of South Hill, died Sunday August 25, 2019. She was a homemaker and the widow of T.C. Ellis. Mrs. Ellis is survived by her daughter Joyce E. Cordle and her husband Clyde of La Crosse; her son, Thomas Ellis of South Hill and her sister, Betty Wells of South Hill. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday August 28th at 11:00 A.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning from 9:00 until service time. Online condolences may be sent through our webpage, www.crowderhitecrews.com.     I have such fond memories of growing up next to the Ellis family. Mable was a sweet and genuine lady. I don’t recall ever seeing her without a smile on her face! May she live forever in your hearts and memories, Joyce. Praying for peace and comfort during this season of loss.
