Mrs. Bessie Marie "Betty" Smith

Mrs. Bessie Marie “Betty” Smith, age 77, of La Crosse, died Wednesday, August 28, 2019 in the VCU/Community Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker and the widow of David Franklin Smith.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters; Yvonne Cline and husband Mike of Chester and Zandra Clary and companion Skeeter Poythress of Brodnax, three sons; Scott Smith and wife Hope and Mark Smith all of Chase City and John Smith and wife Loretta of Baskerville, two sisters; Bonnie Clary and husband Lawrence of Boydton and Patricia King and husband Phillip of Powhatan, a brother David Lewis and wife Brenda of Brodnax ,three sister-in-laws; Betty Wesson (David) of Richmond, Florence Bradley (John) of Emporia and Shirley Lloyd of Richmond, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by as daughter Karen Smith and brother Bud Lewis.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home with interment in La Crosse Cemetery The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggest memorial contributions to be made to the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association, P. O. Box 311, Chase City, VA 23924.
