Obituary:

Mr. Johnny Roger McDaniel, age 64, of La Crosse, died Saturday November 9, 2019. He was a retired auto mechanic. Mr. McDaniel is survived by his son, Johnny R. McDaniel, Jr. of La Crosse; his three brothers: Donnie McDaniel of La Crosse, Terry McDaniel of Brodnax and William McDaniel of Blackridge; his two grandchildren: Chase McDaniel and Mary Madison McDaniel; his nephew and niece: Jacob McDaniel and Morgan McDaniel. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy McDaniel and his granddaughter, Miranda McDaniel. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday November 16th at 1:00 P.M. in Bethel Baptist Church located at 10228 Buggs Island Road, Baskerville, VA. with the family receiving friends following the service. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions in Mr. McDaniel’s name be made to the American Heart Association at P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058 or to the charity of your choice.     Madelyn, Sophie & I are sharing in your sadness, we are so sorry not to be there with you all, but I’ll remember Roger in many positive ways-with a big smile and a great sense of humor, always great with a story and how loving his heart was.

    I was a neighbor and friend of Roger’s cousin, Phil Medlin, and spent many childhood hours at play with Roger, Donnie and Terry. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are certainly with you during this trying time.
