Obituary:

Mr. James Pozie Chapman, age 87, of Boydton, passed away Thursday, August 4th 2022 in Clarksville Heath and Rehab. He was a Lasting room Clerk for the former Craddock-Terry Shoes of Chase City. He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Pruitt and husband Joe of Boydton, two sons, Kenneth Chapman and wife Janet of Boydton and Doug Chapman and wife Robyn of Red Oak, five grandchildren Laura Chapman of Baskerville, Bryan Chapman of Baskerville, Cody Chapman of Red Oak, Meghan Chapman of Youngsville, NC, Shannon Griffith of Prince George and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Chapman is preceded in death by his wife Nellie Simmons Chapman, a sister Linda Meade and two brothers Arval Chapman and Larry Chapman. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, August 7th at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder–Hite Crews Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends starting at 12:30 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Trinity United Methodist Church, Skipwith, VA. The Chapman family asks that any memorial contributions in Mr. Chapmans name be made to Alzheimer’s Association at 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502. Mr. Chapman was a simple man and thereby casual dress is recommended for his service. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com.
