Mrs. Maude Marjorie Passman

02/13/1942 - 09/04/2022

Obituary:

Maude “Marjorie” Passman, 80, passed peacefully on September 4th, 2022, in Jacksonville, FL.
Marjorie was born in 1942, in Brodnax, VA, to Buck and Ruth Whitby. She was a sister to Virginia and a loving Aunt to her nieces, nephew, and other family members. She graduated from Brunswick HS in 1959 and became a seamstress in Lawrenceville, VA. At about age 22, she went to South Hill’s Bowling Alley/Dance Hall where she met a Sailor, fell in love, got married, and was an incredible wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved sewing, crocheting, and all things considered crafty. She enjoyed caring for animals and plants and liked shopping for collectibles. But most of all - “She gave hugs like a Mother, kept secrets like a sister, and shared her love like a friend.” Marjorie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold; her son, Brad, and his wife Michelle, and their three children: Sara, Ryan, and Emma; a Niece, Joy; and Nephew, Sammy. Preceding her passing, she joins her parents, sister, and niece Betty. A small indoor service will be held on September 11th, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in South Hill, Virginia, at the Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home, 1504 N. Mecklenburg Ave., South Hill, VA 23970. For donations, please give to either the Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org/) or the Ascension St. Vincent’s Foundation (https://givestvincents.org/). Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Passman family.

Love and Miss you Mom!

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. I have not seen Marjorie in years, but I have very fond memories of our childhoods together. I remember when she met Harold and was happy they found each other. May God Bless you.

  2. Family friend

To all the family my long time friend and runing mate, Harold, my heartfelt sympathy for your loss. Marilyn and I are praying for you and your family as you go through this ordeal. God Bless you all.
