Obituary:

Mr. Wilmer Earl Parrish aka Earl the Pearl, (among other aliases!) born June 28, 1929 in Goochland, VA residing in Bracey, VA died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones Friday, November 25, 2022 in VCU/Community Memorial Hospital. Earl served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and upon his return began his 40-plus year career as a Master Electrician. During his career he was a proud and faithful member of the IBEW Local Union 666. He retired from both Chewning and Wilmer Electric & Lighting and Phillip-Morris Inc. Earl is survived by his wife of 43 years Laura Virginia (Ginny) Gilley Parrish, daughter Beverly P. Fullerton of Midlothian, sons; Steven E. Parrish of Chesapeake, Dennis K. Parrish (Donna K.) of Grand Prairie, TX, Terry L. Parrish of Victoria, TX, and Jeffrey D. James (Sherry) of Richmond. He was “Grandpa” to 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Earl is also survived by two sisters; June Adams, and Arlene Berry (Carter) and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters; Louise Durrett, Alma Deal and Dorothy Kusterer, three brothers; James Parrish, Richard Parrish, and Everett Parrish; and two sons; Gregory Thomas James and Kerry Lee James. Earl’s humor, quick wit, and kindheartedness will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, please donate to an animal shelter or a charity of your choice in Earl’s memory.     We didn’t know Mr Parrish but the description of him sounds a lot like our beloved TV director, Terry, his son. Great sense of humor and quick wit too! We love Terry here at our church in Texas! Yes, We will meet Mr Parrish on the “other side.” Our condolences from our church family to the Parrish family. We pray peace and comfort to you all!🕊️And we thank him for his service to our country!     I worked with Earl on my first construction project in Danville ,Va and a lot of control jobs in Danville and Greensboro, NC
    He was a great mentor and friend.
