Obituary:

Hilda Gene House, age 90, of White Plains, died on Thursday June 1, 2023 in the Hundley Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Etta Wesson House and Alonzo Christopher House; one sister, Arlene House Jones; five brothers: Cecil House, James E. House, Carlton House, Emory House, Sr. and Earl House; one niece, Pam Smiley and two nephews: William Earl House and Tommy Jones. She is survived by her many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. Hilda worked at Craddock Terry Shoe Factory in Lawrenceville, VA until it closed down. She then became a personal sitter and friend to numerous ladies until their passing, making many friends over the years with the families of these ladies. The family wishes to give a special “Thank You” to all of the employees of the Hundley Center, for the wonderful care they gave to our Aunt Hilda. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday June 4th at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in the Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery, Brodnax. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ruth Memorial Chapel, attn. Brenda Fajna, P.O.     Our family loved Hilda like part of our family. She and our Mom, Hestella, were best buddies and got along so well. It was a joy to have her as a part of our lives. To her family, we are sorry for your loss. She was a special lady.
