Charles Samuel Lewis, Sr.

Mr. Charles Samuel Lewis, Sr., age 79, of Dolphin, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021 in McGuire’s Veterans Hospital , Richmond.
He was a former machine operator for Lone Star and Vulcan Materials for over twenty combined years, and a U.S. Army veteran.
He loved sports, but baseball and golf were his favorites. He coached little league baseball for many years. He was a devout UVA Cavalier fan.
Most of all, he was a devoted husband and father who loved his family.
“Dad” was his title, though short, his influence was long and powerful.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Maude Lewis
Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of fifty-four years Sally Marston Lewis , three sons; Charles “Samuel” Lewis (Nicole) of Warfield, Bryant Keith Lewis ( Becky) of Dolphin and Sean Patrick Lewis (Mary Sue) of Baskerville, a sister Robinette Reid and a brother Joe Ben Lewis both of Bracey and grandchildren; Samantha Lewis, Courtney Lewis, Noah Lewis, Billy Smith and Kari Gromovsky. The family request a private graveside service with interment in Crestview Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Charles’s name to the Lawrenceville Volunteer Fire Department, 400 N.
