Mr. Edward Gordon Fitchett

Obituary:

Mr. Edward Gordon Fitchett, age 81, of Bracey, VA, died on Friday July 29, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family. He was an United States Air Force Veteran and an Architect of the Capitol, in which he and his fellow Architects were responsible for the maintenance and up keep of the United States Capitol building in Washington, DC. Mr. Fitchett is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda Fitchett of Bracey; his son, Troy Fitchett and his wife Lisa of Palmyra, VA; his daughter, Karen Sheppard and her husband Doug of Bracey; his two sisters: Susie Coates of Warsaw, VA and Patsy McMickle of North Myrtle Beach, SC and his four grandchildren: Tabitha Watson and her husband Daniel, Evan Sheppard and his wife Courtney, Nicole Fitchett and Tyler Fitchett. A Celebration of Mr. Fitchett’s life will be held on Friday August 19th at 11:00 A.M. in the Norlina Baptist Church located at 402 Division Street, Norlina, NC 27563, with full American Legion Post 79 Military Honors. A reception will be held following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mr. Fitchett’s name may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society through this web address: www.braintumorcommunity.org/goto/fitchett.     LINDA AN FAMILY IM SORRY TO HERE ABOUT ED.WE ALL HAD A GOOD TIME PLAYING GOLF AND FISHING.WE HAD MANY FOND MEMORIES WITH U AN ED AND FAY AN RICHARD. OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH U AND FAMILY.
