Cremation Services
CREMATION
Cremation services are often chosen and vary from a Traditional Service, to a Cremation with Memorial, or to sometimes Cremation only, without a gathering of remembrance. Our cremation facility is overseen by our Licensed staff members, who are here to coordinate either service choice.
- Traditional cremation is much like a traditional funeral. Family and friends may still have a final moment of spending time with the now deceased family member or friend, which is commonly referred to as a “viewing”, to assist surviving family/ friends in receiving closure and to begin a time of healing, but this choice is for each family to decide upon. Cremation would then follow the funeral ceremony, with the ashes being returned to the family at a later time for interment or scattering.
- A Memorial service would not include a viewing, but would instead include the full ceremony of remembrance and could include the ashes and urn of the family member be present. Afterwards, interment or scattering could be conducted by our staff or family directly.
- Direct cremation is the procedure of our staff completing the process of cremation only and then releasing the ashes to the family as requested. This selection secures our thorough professional oversight, to include the legal requirements of transportation of the family member from the hospital, home, nursing facility, or coroner’s office directly to our facility/crematory, along with completion of all required documents necessary.
Selecting an Urn
An Urn is designed to hold the ashes of your loved one. Choosing one is a personal consideration and should be well thought out. There are many options of style and material of urns available, ranging from solid marble or stone, cast metal or sheet metal, to elegant wood, which may need to be selected to accommodate a cemetery interment requirement.
