Mr. Lawrence Thomas Vaughan

Mr. Lawrence Thomas Vaughan, age 85, of South Hill, passed away on Wednesday May 21, 2025. He was the longtime owner and operator, along with his first wife Patricia, of Lawrence’s Grocery in Dolphin, VA. Mr. Vaughan is survived by his devoted wife, Fely L. “Jelly” Vaughan of South Hill; his daughter, Terisha Vaughan of Richmond; his granddaughter, Samantha Parrott; his three step-sisters: Linda Carty, Brenda Overby and Sandra Liner and his two beloved fur babies: Ghi Ghi and Daniel. Mr. Vaughan was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Vaughan and his daughter, Marcia Brown. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday May 27th at 11:00 A.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday May 26th from 4:00 until 6:00 in the funeral home. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com. Love to Daddy
My Daddy was loved very much by me and my sister Marcia. He was a stubborn little man but he had a Heart of Gold. He was there for us when we needed him. He took us out weekends so Mama could get some peace. He took us fishing and kite flying. And even took us out to work in the woods when he was a logger Daddy will be deeply missed by me Lawrence will also be missed by his devoted wife Jelly He couldn’t have a better wife and caretaker as she was to him in his last years on this earth

So sorry to hear of Lawrence’s passing! I was a childhood friend of his daughter, Marcia.
I remember him to be a kind and thoughtful man who loved his family.

With deepest sympathy, 🙏 l remember when he was operating Lawrence Grocery in Dolphin my family use to go shopping there he sold the best fish and him and his wife Pat treated everyone so nice.Rip!
