Mrs. Shelby Wells Piercy

Mrs. Shelby Wells Piercy, age 87, of South Hill, passed away on Friday December 27, 2024. She was a homemaker and the widow of her husband of 60 years, Samuel Davis Piercy, Jr. Mrs. Piercy is survived by her son, Barry D. Piercy and his wife Carolyn of South Hill; her two granddaughters: Kristen Humphries-Branch and her husband Bryan of Ridgeway, VA and Devin Washburn and her husband Kenneth of South Hill; her five great-grandchildren: Kinsley Humphries, Brylee Washburn, Kaidence Washburn, Madison Boles and Brody Branch; her sister, Marjorie King of Vernon Hill and her many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Piercy was preceded in death by her parents, Shaw and Lucille Wells; her two brothers: Buddy Wells and James Hart Wells; her sister, Louise Shearin; her grandson-in-law, Kevin Humphries and her great-granddaughter, Kennedy Washburn. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday December 30th at 2:00 P.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in the Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 in the funeral home. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com. I worked with Shelby a long time ago. Always smiling. She was such a sweet lady. Rest in peace now, Shelby.

So sorry to hear about the death of Miss Shelby she was a great neighbor of mine a good friend for many years a great homemaker are good farm girl and just a delightful person to have as a friend I hope Barry and his wife and the grandchildren p
