Mr. Carl Ellis Andrews

Obituary:

Mr. Carl Ellis Andrews, 60, of Chase City, Virginia, passed away at his home on Friday, August 8th, 2025. Carl is survived by his long-time caretakers and friends, Rhonda Meade and Lewis Kauffman of Chase City, his sister, Tammy Elizabeth Watson of South Hill, his step-son, Steven McGee of Virginia Beach, his nieces Robin Hensley (Robert) of South Hill, Shannon Watson of Midland, VA, and Cindy (Andrew) Burwell of Chesterfield, and his nephews Christopher Watson of South Hill and Shaun (Ashley) Watson of San Francisco, CA. Carl was also a loving great-uncle to four great-nieces, London Burwell, Dallas Burwell, Carley Hensley, Makayla Hensley, and two great-nephews, Aaron Hensley and Liam Campbell. Carl was preceded in death by his loving wife of 13 years, Jody Andrews (2024), his parents, Ted Ellis Andrews (1995) and Mary Elizabeth Denton (2022), by his step-father, Wiley Denton (2014), and his brother-in-law, Nelson Watson (2024). Carl spent a large part of his career working at Virginia Homes in Boydton, VA. A lifelong carpenter, Carl completed many builds for the Mecklenburg County community, as well as many projects for his family and friends. Carl loved helping others in any way possible and never shied away from offering his time or skills for anyone in need. An avid animal-lover, Carl also enjoyed spending time with his cats and dogs. A private service will be held at a later date. Any memorial contributions in honor of Carl may be made to the South Hill Volunteer Fire Department, 114 N.   1. Tammy and family, sorry to hear of Carl’s passing. I have a kitchen cabinet he made me and I still use it, Carli was in his early twenties when he worked at the old wagon factory in Clarksville. Carl loved working with wood and did beautiful woodwork.Prayers for all in this difficult time.
