I am so sorry to hear of Katie’s passing. Katie was such a good friend to the Burton family and especially to my sister Alma during the time of her confinement. Katie was the most caring person one could ever imagine. Rest in peace Katie.

  4. Cousin but like a sister

Oh my words cannot describe my heartbreak. Katie was warm and loving and caring-beautiful inside and out. She visited almost every summer, sometimes making the trip from Virginia to South Carolina alone. We cooked, ate good homemade southern food, did a lot of shopping, sharing stories and enjoying each others company. There were usually tearful goodbyes (and giggles). She was always a blessing to me. I know from her testimony she is with our Savior and u will see her again. Peace, Katie-I love you.🦋

She was always upbeat and had a great sense of humour. In our last conversation, we shared a laugh about “grits”
Sonny, we understand you brought some happiness into her life. Katie was very proud of Mark and Michael and enjoyed being a grandmother! Katie expressed appreciation for her daughters-in-law, Sharon, Kristen, and Layne.
