09/16/1944 - 11/02/2025
Elizabeth “Beth” Wingfield Hylton Parker
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Elizabeth “Beth” Wingfield Hylton Parker passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 81. Beth is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Charles; her son, Charlie, and his wife, Michelle; her daughter, Stuart Meyer, and her husband, Jeff; five cherished grandchildren—Drew, Lizzie, Lily, Julia, and Pierce—and her beloved great-granddaughter, Ava. She is also survived by her brother, Walter Hylton, Jr., and his wife, Susan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Virginia Hylton. Born on September 16, 1944, in Richmond, Virginia, Beth lived a life marked by love, faith, and service. She cared deeply for her family and her community. For many years, she was an active member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, where she faithfully served as Senior Warden. Later, she found great joy singing in the choir at All Saints in South Hill. Beth’s spirit of generosity extended beyond the church. She devoted many hours volunteering at Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, where she especially loved reading with senior adults in the Annex. As President of the Virginia Association of Hospital Auxiliaries (VAHA), she inspired others through her leadership and dedication. An avid gardener, Beth was a proud member of the Brunswick County Garden Club and an active participant in the Garden Club of Virginia. She also had a lifelong affection for dogs, cherishing them as members of the family.
A memorial service celebrating Beth’s life will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Palmer Springs on Tuesday, November 25, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Beth’s honor at www.alz.org. I knew Mrs. Parker from when Stuart and I took dancing together when we were younger. She was always such a sweet, kind lady. Prayers for comfort, peace and guidance to Mr. Parker, Stuart, Charles and all of her family. She is resting in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior. God bless you all.
Charlie and Stuart,
Your mom is an integral part of my childhood memories at St. Andrew’s. She was such a wonderful Sunday School and Bible School teacher and such an involved member of the church. I am sorry for your loss, but know you have so many wonderful memories. -Mary Ann (Peebles) Crowder
Condolences
In high school, I think everyone loved Beth as much as I did. She was always so kind and accepting to everyone, not just her special friends. Although I haven’t seen Beth since that time, I would like to send her loved ones my sincere condolences for their loss of such a beautiful person and a wonderful soul. May she rest in eternal peace.

Be the same without Beth. I knew Beth as an adult after my parents moved to the lake and my brother settled in Lawrenceville. Brunswick County won’t be the same without Beth. Blessings and God’s comfort on her family.
My condolences go out to Charles and Charlie and the rest of the family. Beth was a very nice lady who will be missed by all.
Beth was only 7 years younger than me so I knew her all her life. She was a beautiful person and will be greatly missed. May God be with each member of her family in the months ahead without her. Lots of love from my home to yours
Beth, Mrs. Parker was the best! I knew her growing up as a kid on the lake! I spent many hours with her family including Maggie the family dog on the lake and at the pool! So many good times and she will always be one of the best people I’ve ever known. She took care of everyone around her. She made sure we were safe, happy and fed. I will always cherish the moments I spent with her. Her love for her Maggie dog really sticks out more than anything. She loved that dog more than anything in this world. I want to send my heartfelt condolences to my childhood lake buddies Stuart and Charles, I will never forget the good times we had on the lake! Many prayers to this family 🩷❤️
