Rex Harrison Hite (Rescheduled for February 7th)

Rex Harrison Hite, age 61 of Oakland Park, FL and formerly of South Hill, VA, died unexpectedly from an accident on December 3, 2025. He was predeceased by his father Jack Hite. Rex is survived by his mother, Florence Lucy (Hite) Joachim of Lovingston, VA; two sisters, Jacquelynn Noel of FL and Gena Louise Hite-Price of Appomattox; one brother, Woodrow Barnham Hite of South Hill; 1 niece and 3 nephews, whom he adored. Rex proudly served his Country in the US Navy, serving on the USS Iowa. He then went on to work for Groton, where he assisted in ship “launchings” before he graduated with honors at Chelsea University with a Master's of Business Administration in Medicine and worked for the University of Miami.
He enjoyed many intricacies of life including writing poetry as well as calligraphy. Memorial Contributions may be made in Rex’s honor to Harvest Field Pentecostal Assembly Church of God, C/O Pastor Steve Ramsey, 2101 S Amherst Hwy, Amherst, VA 24521. A memorial service with American Legion Post 79 Military Honors. will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2 P.M. in the Crowder-Hite-Crews Chapel, South Hill, VA, with a visitation beginning 1:00 P.M.
