Mrs. Charlotte Taylor Johnson

Mrs. Charlotte Taylor Johnson, age 78, entered Heaven’s gates on Sunday, March 22, 2026. Charlotte called Brodnax, VA, in Brunswick County, home for most of her life before settling in South Hill, VA, with her husband. She was a graduate of Brunswick High School (65”) and later Longwood University (69”). Charlotte dedicated her career to education for thirty-four years, the last seventeen of which she served as an English adjunct professor at Southside Virginia Community College. Throughout her life, she was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Charlotte loved her family deeply and was deeply loved in return. She could often be found worshipping on Sundays, working in her garden, or serving up a warm meal—or a Saturday night milkshake—with family. Her home was always open, and no one ever left her table hungry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hazel Taylor, and her brother, Ogburn Taylor. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 55 years, Glenn N. Johnson; their daughter, Katherine J. Fleming (Brandon) of South Hill, VA; her four grandchildren, Jackie Mills (Ryan), Alyssa Fleming (Josh), Sydney Fleming (Jonathon), and Mason Fleming; four great-grandchildren, Maddy, Tucker, River, and Millie; and her favorite cat, Buster. Charlotte will forever be a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and Grammy. A graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, at 11:00 a.m. in Oakwood Cemetery, South Hill, followed by a celebration of life in the fellowship hall of South Hill Presbyterian Church.
