Kimberly Peoples Kasai

Kimberly Peoples Kasai, 64, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on June 19, 2026. Born on April 6, 1962, in South Hill, Virginia, Kimberly (Kim, Kimmie) was raised in Raleigh, where she built a life grounded in family, kindness, and quiet strength. She graduated from Millbrook High School and later attended William Peace College. Kim enjoyed a long and dedicated career in the banking and mortgage industry, where she was admired for her professionalism, integrity, and genuine care for the people she served. She created relationships everywhere she worked and continued to cultivate them through the years. She was also a child of God who loved to worship Him wherever she could. Family was at the center of Kim’s life. She was the beloved daughter of Kerney A. Peoples and the late Virginia Mize Peoples, and the stepdaughter of Beverly Peoples. She is also survived by her brother, Mike Peoples. Kim was first married to Vernon Sweat, with whom she shared two daughters, her greatest pride and joy, Megan Rogan and Paige Miles. Later in life, Kim found love and companionship again with her husband, Kevin Kasai. She embraced his two sons, Brent and Christian, welcoming them fully into her heart and home. Kim is survived by her father and stepmother, Kerney and Beverly Peoples of Raleigh, NC; her brother, Mike Peoples of Zebulon, NC; her daughters, Megan Rogan (Andrew) of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Paige Miles (JW) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and her grandchildren, Colton, Jameson, Dawson, and Savannah. She is also survived by her husband, Kevin Kasai; her beloved hound, Elle`; her stepsons, Brent (Dannelle) of Ball Park, GA; and Christian (Katie) of Greenville, SC; and her mother-in-law, Jane M. Kasai of Greensboro. Kim will be remembered for her warm heart, steady encouragement, and her remarkable ability to make others feel heard and valued. Her legacy of love, resilience, and compassion lives on through her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A service to celebrate Kim’s life will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Trinity Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service. A private committal will be held following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kim's memory to the following: Transitions Lifecare, 250 Hospice Cir, Raleigh, NC 27607; Trinity Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27609; or The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, DUMC Box 3624, Durham, NC 27710.
