Albert Glenn Kelly

Albert Glenn Kelly, affectionately known as “Glenn,” was born January 22, 1955, in Wilmington, North Carolina, to the late Johnny J. Kelly and Ether R. Kelly. Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Donna B. Kelly, with whom he shared 40 loving years of marriage; his brother, Franklin Dale Kelly and his family; his brother, Timothy Rhodes Kelly, his wife, Vivian, and their daughter, Madison Reece Kelly; his son, Jason Lee Bryan and his wife, Jennifer; and his daughter, Courtney Weimer and her husband, Eric. He was a proud grandfather to Kaya Weimer, Maia Weimer, Layla Weimer, Hunter Bryan, and Cameron Bryan. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, but four held a particularly special place in his heart: Madison Reece Kelly, Jonathan Knapp, Avery Knapp, and Karaline Swindell, along with many extended family members and friends. Glenn earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Emmanuel University in Franklin Springs, Georgia. He began his career at Duke University Medical Center and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. His law enforcement career included service with the Durham Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. He later retired as a Sergeant with Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Glenn had a passion for golf and enjoyed cheering for his beloved North Carolina Tar Heels. His faith was an important part of his life. Glenn attended West Durham Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he served as secretary-treasurer, and recently attended Kingswood Methodist Church in Bracey, Virginia. As Glenn’s earthly journey came to an end, his faith gave him peace and assurance. His final words to his family will remain forever in their hearts:
“I am ready, and I will meet you on the other side.”

Glenn will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, cherished brother and uncle, faithful servant, and friend. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Kingswood Methodist Church, 4234 State Route 903, Bracey, Virginia 23919. Family and friends will be received from 2:00–3:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. John Potter.
