Mr. Matthew Gene Wells, Jr.

Mr. Matthew Gene Wells, Jr., age 58, of South Hill, died on Wednesday October 26, 2022. He was a self-employed auto mechanic in Union Level. Gene had a knowledge base that allowed him to be able to repair anything he came across. He spent much time working on race cars earlier in his life, was an avid fox hunter, and enjoyed spending time with the people he loved. Gene is survived by his parents, Matt and Carol Wells of Union Level and his sister, Carol Ann Matthews and her husband Tony of Union Level. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday October 31st at 11:00 A.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Gene’s name may be made to the Buckhorn Volunteer Fire Department at 5972 Union Level Road, South Hill, VA 23970. I am very sorry to hear of the passing of gene , he helped me many times with equipment problems and we always had time to straighten out problems in the world. He will be sorely missed. My sympathies to his family.
