Mr. Herbert Pennington Binford, Jr.

Mr. Herbert Pennington Binford, Jr., age 84, of South Hill, died on Tuesday November 1, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Binford was a retired employee of Burlington Mills in South Hill. He is survived by his wife, Jane T. Binford of South Hill; his daughter, Stacy Archer and her husband Wade of Chase City; his special niece, Cheryl Newcomb and her husband Bennie of Meherrin; his grandson, William Archer, Jr. and his companion Amanda Howerton of South Hill; his brother, Charles Binford and his wife Linda of Crown Point, Indiana and his many special friends. A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Friday November 4th at 11:00 A.M. in Crestview Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to the South Hill United Methodist Church at 105 Franklin Street, South Hill, VA 23970 or to the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association at P.O. Box 311, Chase City, VA 23924. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com. Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Binford family.

Herbert always made you laugh when you talked to him. He was a good and kind hearted man. He always loved getting letters from me about our classmates from South Hill High School. May God be with his family in the months ahead without him. Lots of love from my home to yours

Herbert Jr. and I were childhood friends and played together when his parents would come to Union Level to visit family and friends.
