Mr. Travis Earl Belcher

Mr. Travis Earl Belcher, age 90, of Haw River, NC and formerly of La Crosse, died on Friday July 14, 2023. He was a retired United States Marine with 24 years of service who served in both Korea and Vietnam. Following his military service, he subsequently retired from Raytheon Company. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dora May Belcher; his son, James A. Belcher and his wife Carlota; his daughter, Sharon B. Whitley and her husband Lawrence; his brother, Colin Belcher and his wife Josephine; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday July 17th at 11:00 A.M. in the Olive Branch Baptist Church Christian Life Center with interment to follow in the church cemetery with full American Legion Post 79 Military Honors. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 A.M. until service time in the Olive Branch Baptist Church Christian Life Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Olive Branch Baptist Church Building Fund at 5223 Blackridge Road, La Crosse, VA 23950. Our heartfelt thoughts are with Travis’ family as we say goodbye to an amazing and devoted man. Travis’ heart of gold and kind ways touched so many. He stepped up to make things happen in the community and was a wonderful inspiration. We loved his charm and spirit and celebrate the life of a true friend. RIP brother and Semper fi.
