Mrs. Doris Mae Wall

Obituary:

Doris Mae Wall, 85, of Lawrenceville, Va., died peacefully following a short illness, Sept. 29, 2023, in South Hill, Va. Mrs. Wall, a native of Milwaukee, Wis., was born Nov. 3, 1937. She graduated from Saint Mary’s Academy in Milwaukee. She worked as a bookkeeper for various companies after the family moved to Virginia. She was also a foster parent for many children while her family was living in Wisconsin and in Virginia. After retiring to Lawrenceville, she volunteered at her church and for the Alzheimer’s Association in South Hill. She was a member of Saint Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Ebony, Va. Mrs. Wall was a devoted and selfless caregiver. She was also an avid fan of professional tennis and traveled extensively throughout the United States and the Caribbean with her family and friends. The daughter of the late Anne F. and John F. Pulkowski, she is survived by her husband of 62 years, George A. Wall, also of Lawrenceville, a daughter Barbara A. Wall, of New Bern, N.C., two sons David L. Wall of Lawrenceville, and Andrew J. Wall of Bunker Hill, W. Va., and one brother John T. Pulkowski, of Franklin, Wis. The family extends its gratitude to the staff of Pine View Assisted Living in South Hill, for its loving care of Mrs. Wall in her final months. Donations in Mrs. Wall’s memory can be made to the Brunswick County Rescue at P.O. Box 399, Lawrenceville, Va., 23868, or to The Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.     I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of Doris. She was a very special friend of my mother and I. I’m praying for God’s peace and comfort for George and all of her Children.
