Mr. Nevin Edward Clark

07/16/1940 - 12/23/2023

Obituary:

Mr. Nevin “Ed” Clark, age 83, of Bracey, went to live with our heavenly Father on Saturday, December 23, 2023. Nevin was a beloved father, caring grandfather, and amazing friend to many. Nevin had a servant’s heart. He spent much of his adult years involved in Canoe Trails, which allowed him to share his love for the outdoors and volunteerism with others. After retiring from his work as a draftsman for U.S. Steel, he has spent much of his time helping others by doing everything from building ramps for the handicapped, delivering to charities, and assisting neighbors with home projects. He has been actively involved in Habitat for Humanity, Volunteers for Christ, and his local church. When he wasn’t helping others, he could be found on the golf course with his friends. Nevin was the widow of Sandra Cotten Clark, his wife of almost 30 years. He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Lori (Bob) Mackowiak of Cary, NC; his two sons: Jeff (Kelley) Clark of Williamsburg, VA, and Jim (fiancé Crystal) Clark of Baton Rouge, LA; a sister Jean Wagner of Winter Haven, FL; eight grandchildren: Bryan (Kelsey) Mackowiak, Megan (Nick) Snell, Lauren (Nathaniel) Darling, Jake (Lauren) Clark, Luke Clark, Drew Clark, Leah Clark, Blakely Clark; and his great grandchild, Sadie Mackowiak. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial donations in Nevin’s name be made to either Roanoke Rapids Habitat for Humanity at 1152 NC-48, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870, or to Volunteers for Christ at P.O. Box 929 South Hill, VA 23970. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com. Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home is serving the Clark Family.

The Hicks family loved Ed. He was a wonderful friend and great neighbor and there was nothing that he wouldn’t do to help anyone. He was a perfect gentleman and my mother dearly loved him. She thought the world of him and so did my dad.
    Praying for the Family.
    Love Judy Hicks

  4. Ed will be truly missed by all who knew him. What a kind gentle soul he was. He served the Lord well and earned his wings. He’ll be missed especially by his service to Prospect United Methodist Church and friends.
