Ruth Thon Allen

Obituary:

Mrs. Ruth Thon Allen, age 87 of Joyceville sub-division, Bracey, died Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at her residence. She was a former hostess at Cracker Barrel, an avid golfer, organizer of many social events at Tanglewood Shores Country Club, wife and mother.
Ruth is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Clifford M. “Cliff” Allen, three sons; Richard W. Spencer of Dewitt, VA, David R. Allen of Bracey and Paul B. Allen of Chester, two daughters; Susan Estep of Florida and Roberta Spencer of California, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Billie Winslow and brother Donald “Sonny” Thon.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home with interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.     I am so sorry to hear about sweet Ruth. She was one of my very favorite patients. She had an unforgettable laugh and was always happy around me.I hope she had a peaceful journey. She will live through our memories and stories and tears and laughter. Sending peace and joy and love to Cliff and the family.

    Cliff and Family,
    I don’t want to Believe that Ruthie is gone.but I know she is with Jesus. Oh, the years of Life and Fun We had Together. ,,Parties,Golf Anything to raise money for Tanglewood.She loved Fun Golf and always Food to Follow.
    Yard Sales was her thing and anything else to help Someone or Something .We will all miss her–only 0ne Ruthie –Love to Cliff and Family Dotty

  3. Mom you have always been the life of the party. You kept us laughing always. Your one of a kind for sure. I will miss our calls but have lots of happy memories with you and my family. I’m sure you will be watching over us from above. Until I see you again. I love you.

  5. Beloved Aunt Ruthie

    My Aunt Ruthie was an awesome person and I was lucky to have her be a part of my life for 42 years. She would do anything for anyone and always with a smile and some jokes. She will truly be missed but never forgotten.

  6. Ruth & Cliff were former neighbors of ours. We’re so sorry to hear of her passing. Ruth was a very active person and pride herself on keeping her yard spotless. She was friendly, had a great sense of humor and could tell stories about her life that you new she lived every day to it’s fullest. Condolences to Cliff and her family.
