  1. Best Man

Bu Jack was the best welder I knew. And I know he was a Super husband, a super dad, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed tremendously by everyone who knew him. If you knew him, you were better for it. I worked with him for 16 years and he always had a smile to share.

  5. Just by reading the posted condolences so far, you will get a clear picture of who John was. I never saw John when he was not smiling and he was always respectful to all. I know what kind of an employee he was in his prior job with Dominion and I am sure he was an even better Instructor with SVCC. He always took great pride in his work. John was the most calm, and even tempered person I knew and he never seemed to be in a bad mood and that I was thankful for. 🙂 This is a most definite loss to so many.

My, oh my. My sincere condolences to the Evans family especially Shon and Charity. Although, I met BuJack in my teen years – there was something special about him. He is one of those people when you think of them – you just smile. And, BuJack had that sweet, sweet smile and spirit. I know, that he has touched many lives and will be remembered by all his friends and family. Remember all the sweet memories and know that you will see him again. God’s blessings to each of you during this time – continue to trust God in all things.

Bu Jack, Mack Hayes, Felton, and Garrett Overbey all grew up together .We are all related. We were all together on Sunday after church,
either at Aunt Rosa or Aunt Gracie. We ate and played.
We all grew up and went seperate ways.Bujack was in my wedding.
Although I have talked to him abut 20 years, but When I talked to Gerard I always asked about Bu jack and Mack.
Sorry for this day. Condolences to your family.

  10. Colleague

To the Evans family, my condolences for your loss. I will continue to keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. While I didn’t have the priviledge of talking to John often, whenever I did, it was like we were best friends. He was a very kind and gentle person and will be missed by his SVCC family. Treasure your memories!

  11. Friend and Colleague

This is so hard to write. If anyone deserves good words it is John Evans. I have been doubly blessed to know him as a friend but also to see his life and abilities poured into countless others and what a difference he made in the lives of so many. John was someone everyone loved and everyone respected. He was always in the welding lab helping someone outside of class, preparing them for an interview, repairing something to help them out personally. He welded with the governor, with state leaders, and it didn’t matter who he was teaching or talking to, he was light and he treated everyone with the same positive, warm energy. He will be missed in many ways. Michelle and family, there are many at the college who are praying for you and are there for you. God bless you John Evans I cannot imagine the joy you have right now.

  12. Prayers for peace and comfort for John’s family. While we did not work at the same SVCC campus, I had a number of opportunities to spend time with John, including our awesome softball outing at one of our work events, and I always appreciated his warm welcome and kind smile. I know he positively impacted the lives of many aspiring welders and was the kind of colleague all of us hope to be. Praises for his heavenly home, even as those of us still here mourn his loss.
