Mr. John Claden Connell, Jr., age 63, of South Hill, passed away on Wednesday March 18, 2026 in his home, with his wife by his side. He was a long time truss designer for Proffitt Lumber Company. He is survived by his wife, Phebe M. Connell of South Hill; his father, Claden Connell and his wife Pat of South Hill; his three sons: Christopher Connell of Tennessee, Zachariah Maynard and his wife Samantha of South Carolina and Luke Maynard and his wife Lauren of South Hill; his three brothers: Paul Connell and his wife Chrissy of Faber, VA, Barry Connell and his wife Stacey of South Hill and Brian Pearce and his wife Tanja of South Hill; his four grandchildren, including Elijah and John Keith; his niece, Camryn Connell and his two nephews: Drew Connell and Clay Connell. He was preceded in death by his son, Neal Connell. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Saturday March 21st at 1:00 P.M. in the Freedom House Ministries located at 24515 Highway 47, South Hill, VA 23970.
