Obituary:

Jerry Ray Barnette, Sr., of South Hill, passed away March 27, 2026 with his family by his side. He was born March 28, 1953 as a twin to the late Robert and Althea Barnette; and was recently predeceased by his sister, Kathy Barnette Ivey. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cindy Barnette; his daughter, Heather Karole Barnette of South Hill; his three sons, Chris Barnette (Crystal) of South Hill, Jerry Barnette, Jr (Candace) of Charleston, SC and Matthew Adam Barnette of South Hill; sister, Margaret Bishop; brothers, Robert Barnette, Jr., Tommy Barnette and twin- Terry Barnette, all of Brodnax; 4 grandchildren, Owen, Charlotte, Caroline and Jack; special cousin, Kim Crafton; devoted friend, Kenny Coles and many additional relatives and friends. Jerry was hard-working family man and when not working, was most happy being outdoors tending his grass, rain or shine. The family will receive friends Monday, March 30, 2026 from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Crafton

  1. It’s been a lot of years and a lot of miles but I still have great memories of my friends back in South Hill . That includes Robert, Terry, and Jerry. Rest in peace Jerry and my condolences to those he left behind.
