Mrs. Anne Ogburn Crowder

Mrs. Anne Ogburn Crowder, age 74, of South Hill, VA, died on Sunday November 3, 2024. She was a former employee of Wake Med and later became the co-director of the CMH Hospice volunteers. She was a graduate of Park View High School and North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, NC and she was the widow of John W. Ogburn, lll and Wendell Myrl Crowder, Jr. Anne is survived by her sister, Linda M. Thomas and her husband Otis of South Hill; her nephew, Jason R. Thomas and his wife Amanda of Chesterfield; her two great-nephews: Julian E. Thomas and Adrian L. Thomas both of Chesterfield; her aunt, Mary H. “Teewah” Hayes of Danville and her many loving family and friends. Anne was preceded in death by her son, John Edward “Eddie” Ogburn and her parents, James and LaVerna Matthews. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday November 12th at 11:00 A.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh, North Carolina. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hollyz Hobbie Rescue at 1082 Old Rock Road, Clarksville, VA 23927 or to the Lake Country SPCA at P.O. Box 14, Clarksville, VA 23927.
