Mrs. Ellen Bennett King

Mrs. Ellen Bennett King, age 87, of Forksville, went to be with the Lord on Monday December 9, 2024. She was a long time caregiver for many local families. Mrs. King is survived by her daughter, Alice K. Jones and her husband Jimmy of Forksville; her son, Michael Duane King and his wife Debbie of Sutherland; her two brothers: Bobby Bennett and Randy Bennett both of Kenbridge; her sister, Agnes Byrd of La Crosse; her grandson, Ricky Jones and his wife Crystal of South Hill; her four great-grandchildren, who referred to their great-grandmother lovingly as "Big Nanny": Maddox Jones, Paxton Jones, Alexander Jones and Knox Jones; her three step-grandchildren: Michael, Matthew and Marshal; her dear friend and caregiver, Barbara Alston and her many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Lee King; her parents, Sterling and Laura Bennett and her five sisters: Hazel White, Susie Blanton, Jo Ann Coleman, Mable Bennett and Catherine Hill. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday December 12th at 2:00 P.M. in New Hope Baptist Church, South Hill, with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 P.M. until service time in the church and at other times in the home of her grandson, Ricky Jones. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association at P.O. Box 311, Chase City, VA 23924. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com.
