Mr. Glenn Christopher Allen

Mr. Glenn Christopher Allen, age 70, of South Hill, passed away on Wednesday January 29, 2025 at his home. He and his wife were co founders of Dogwood Graphics, Inc and Birdie’s Pimento Cheese. Early in his retirement, he was also an employee of Harper Jewelry Company. Glenn was a very accomplished man who had a heart for service to his community. Among his accomplishments: he was a graduate of Park View High School and Virginia Polytechnic and State University; he was a long time member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church, having served as a trustee and lay reader; he was an active member of the South Hill Masonic Lodge No. 297 AF&AM having served as Grand Purveyor, District Deputy Grand Master, Worshipful Master, and Lodge Secretary; he served as the Authority Director for the Roanoke River Service Authority from 2013 until 2023; he was an active member of the South Hill Shrine Club and a past president; he served on the South Hill Revitalization Committee and was a past president; the South Hill Centennial Committee; ACCA Temple Shriners; a graduate of Leadership Mecklenburg; a former member of South Hill Town Council and he also was a very dedicated blood donor. Glenn is survived by his wife, Robin Bryan Allen; his daughter, Meredith Glenn Allen; his brother, William Lawrence Allen and his wife, Ellen; his sister, Janet Allen Williams and her husband, Mark; his father-in-law, Ralph Hutchins, his sister-in-law, Kellie Bryan Bishop and her husband, Howard; his nieces, Donna Jones Robinson, her husband Donnie, and their daughter, Marilyn, Leslie Parker Clark, Mary Charlotte Clark Moody, her husband, Austin; his nephew, Christopher Evan Jones, his wife Carla, and their son, Loann. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Leo William Allen and Loulie Parker Allen; his sister Lynn Allen Minter, her husband, Larry; and his mother-in-law, Jean Bryan Hutchins. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday February 8th at 11:00 AM in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with Masonic Funeral Rights by the South Hill Masonic Lodge No. 297 AF&AM. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southside Rescue Squad at P.O. Box 546, South Hill, VA 23970.
