James Monte Ford

Mr. James Monte Ford, age 75 of Boydton, died Monday, February 24, 2025 in VCU/Community Memorial Hospital. He was the son of James Earl and Peggy Ivey Ford. Monte was an Industrial Engineer having worked with Burlington Industries, Shakespeare Inc., Allied Chemical and Honeywell, Inc., a member of Twin Rivers Masonic Lodge #338 AF and AM in Clarksville, VA. Monte was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was also the widower of Deborah Davis Ford. He is survived by a sister, Mary Ford Mullins and husband Ashley and a brother, Daniel Ford all of Chattanooga, TN., another brother, Lamarr Ford of Franklin, TN, his In-Laws, Charles and Ann Davis of South Hill, Susan and Dwight Payne of Wake Forest, NC and Melva and Jimmie Seay of Wingate, NC, special friends: Tyler, Leslie and Harper Marsh of Ashland, VA. and a devoted K-9 companion Hannah. Monte was predeceased by his son, James Monte Ford, Jr. and a sister Suzanne Ford Laffin.
A Memorial service will be conducted Saturday, March 1, 2025 in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. Memorial contributions in Monte’s name may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church, c/o Mrs. Edwina Smith, 26800 Hwy # 47, South Hill, Va. 23970.
