Mrs. Lois Saunders Burton

Mrs. Lois Mae Saunders Burton, or “Nanny” as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren and to many who knew her, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20th surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Iva & Robert Saunders, her husband of 56 years, Thomas “Henry” Burton, a son, Robert “Peanut” Burton, her brothers Earl Saunders and Dewey Saunders, a daughter in law, Gloria Baird, and a great granddaughter, Courtney Seward. She is survived by her children, Thomas Burton of Dolphin, Jimmy Burton of La Crosse, and Lois Powell (Tim) of Freeman, her daughter in law, Patsy Burton of Brodnax seven grandchildren, Robbie Burton, Kevin Burton (Chad), Crystal Burton (Ben), Kelly Burton (Ron), Jessica Lucy (Ricky), Tommy Lucy (MacKenzie), and Ryan Powell (Gene), and nine great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday March 24th at 11:00 A.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3:30 until 5:00 in the funeral home. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com.
