Obituary:

Ketana (Tan) was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Solomon and Amie Mercer-Parler on May 21, 1959. She graduated 1977 from Overbrook High School in Philadelphia PA. In 1978 the family relocated to Tabernacle, NJ. Tan had a lengthy and successful career with the NJ Casino Control Commission until her medical retirement in 2005. At that time she and her daughter Tifani relocated to Lawrenceville, VA.
She was a woman of God and a member of Refuge Temple in Warfield, VA.

Tan was known in the family for making the best 7up pound cakes, strawberry daiquiris and always making over sweetened Kool Aid.

She enjoyed music, loved singing and played the flute.
She is survived by her daughter Tifani Parler. Tan had 5 siblings, the late Betty Shivers-Ross, the late Barbara Shivers- Johnson and the late Stan Shivers. Her surviving siblings are Costonia Parler-Taylor and Gerry Parler of Marlton NJ, Becky Clary (Steve) of Bracey, VA and an Aunt Linda Bassett.

Ketana will be forever loved and missed by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
