Obituary:

Mrs. Cynthia Butler Ladlee, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025. She was born in Bladen County, NC, to the late Hugh Bert ‘HB’ and Martha Gause Butler on April 20, 1933, and was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Richard ‘Dick’ James Ladlee, and son Richard ‘Ricky’ Ladlee, II. Eight siblings and eight half-siblings also predeceased her. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Sandy Moore and Suzanne Ladlee; three grandchildren, Amanda Writtenberry (Charlie), Kyle Taduran (Lindsay), and Cody Taduran (Lexie); five great-grandchildren, Ashley Comly (Robert), Madalynn Writtenberry, Sloane Taduran, Rhys Taduran, and Miles Taduran; several great-great-grandchildren Roman Argueta, Ava Comly, and Charley Comly; sister, Lucille Butler Adcox. Cynthia was the family’s rock and foundation, always putting those she loved before herself. Her quiet strength and deep love will carry on in those she loves.     To Sandy and Suzanne and families, we are so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was just the sweetest and kindness person I know. Along with your dad, they were wonderful neighbors and friends to my parents. Danny and I speak of your precious parents often. They are well remembered in our household.
