Mrs. Ann Smiley Reamey

Ann “Smiley” Reamey, age 85 of LaCrosse, VA, passed away peacefully at her home on July 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gilbert Reamey; her parents, John and Nellie Smiley; her brother, Dallas Smiley; her daughter-in-law, Sonya Reamey; and her grandson, Christopher Reamey. Ann is survived by her sisters, Sadie Mills and Linda (Tom), and her brother, Earl Smiley. She leaves behind three sons: Dexter Reamey (Nancy), Curtis Reamey (Ann), and Willie Reamey. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Melissa Reamey (Tammy), Melinda Mowry (Dan), Kenny Reamey, Sherri Reamey Lenhart, John Curtis Reamey (Victoria), Amber Jenkins (Ronnie), Stacey Reamey (Lex), and Michael Reamey (Jennifer). She was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren: Donovan Mowry, Asher Mowry, Zach Reamey, Madison Reamey, Gabriel Lenhart, Connor Jenkins, Abby Clary, Justin Rogers, Ryan Rogers, Karoline Reamey, and LeeAnne Reamey. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her devoted caregiver, Denise Edmonds, for her kindness and care. Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all. She loved working in her garden and found joy in her flowers and plants. She was a woman of faith and attended church regularly, finding strength and peace in her life. Her love, and generosity touched all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed. After the service the Family and friends are invited to gather at Sardis United Methodist Church, 3152 Marengo Rd., LaCrosse, VA 23950, for refreshments as we celebrate Ann’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Sardis United Methodist Church, 3152 Marengo Rd., LaCrosse, VA 23950, in Ann’s memory. Her funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday July 30th at 11:00 A.M. in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com. We were so sorry to hear of Ann’s passing. Our sincere condolences to all of the family. Wish we could be at her service on Wednesday, but Wayne has just had back surgery and can’t do any traveling right now. Ann was a sweet lady & will surely be missed.

I met Ann at Sardis Church. She was always so complimentary when it came to my music Always welcoming and wanting to talk a while. Ann will be remembered as a faithful member of Sardis Church, and I have missed her being in her favorite pew. She needed her rest, and so I say to the family, you were blessed to have her for so long. Now just remember the good times and be thankful. Let the music play on. RW
