Lee Anna Cutler Norwood
11/25/1954 - 10/01/2025
With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Lee Anna Norwood, 70, of Palmer Springs, Virginia. Born on November 25, 1954, she was the beloved daughter of Bob and Yvonne Cutler. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Norwood, and her cherished granddaughter, Layla Mitchell, who were truly the center of her world. She is also survived by her two brothers, Dale Cutler and Dean Cutler; her nephew, Kyle Cutler; and her niece, Brooke Cutler Ellis (Thomas), along with their daughters Peyton and Olivia Ellis. She leaves behind her aunt, Sharon Tabelina; her cousin DeeAnna Forbes (Michael), who was like a sister to her, and DeeAnna’s daughters Hailey Rae Forbes and Lauren Capps, along with Lauren’s children MJ Wright and Skylar Capps. She is also survived by her dear cousin Nellie Ann Mills Carter and her daughters Beth, JoAnna and Robin. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Bob and Yvonne Cutler, and her dear friend and sister-in-law, Karen Cutler. A devoted 7th-grade math teacher, Lee Anna was respected and loved by both her students and colleagues. Her dedication, wisdom, and compassion made her an exceptional educator. She embodied strength and grace as a three-time cancer survivor. She was a selfless woman and a patient caregiver to both of her parents, always putting the needs of others above her own without complaint. On weekends, you could find her soaking up the sun with a good book on the shores of Buggs Island Lake, sweet tea in hand and classic rock playing in the background. She adored the children in her family and made sure that whenever she was around, they were having the time of their lives—whether holding on tight during endless tube rides across the lake, laughing through theme park adventures, or enjoying shopping trips with their “Lee Lee.” A proud and passionate Tar Heel fan, she loved cheering (and sometimes yelling) at the games alongside her family. To know Lee Anna was to know a woman of grace, strength, and selflessness. She will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her unwavering devotion to her daughter and granddaughter, and the many students, friends, and family members whose lives she inspired and uplifted. She was truly a gem. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at the Palmer Springs Volunteer Fire Department. The family warmly welcomes all who knew and loved her to share memories and honor her life. Online condolences may be made through our website, www.crowderhitecrews.com. Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Norwood family.
