Obituary:

Mr. Paul Wayne Gilbert, aged 83, of South Hill died, Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 in his home. Paul served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years. Once retired from the Navy, Paul worked for 20 years for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and 10 years performing maintenance for Fort Pickett. Paul Wayne Gilbert leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Denise Gilbert, his son in law, Michael ‘Bo’ Arnold Sr., his step sons, Daniel Austin (Leslie) and Cody Austin (Lindsay), his grandchildren: Michael Arnold, Jr. (Holly), Ashley Arnold Bownas (Nathan), Lily Austin, Emmalin Austin, Natalie Austin, Hunter Spence and Connor Spence and his great grandchildren, Connor Arnold, Adelynn Bownas, Frank Bownas and Emme Jo Bownas. Paul was proceeded in death by his daughter, Angie Arnold. Services will be private. Online condolences may be made through our website at www.crowderhitecrews.com.
