Mrs. Dorothy Rose Edwards "Aunt Dot" Medlin

Obituary:

Mrs. Dorothy Rose Edwards Medlin, age 96, of La Crosse, affectionately known as “Aunt Dot”, passed away on Tuesday November 25, 2025 at VCU Community Memorial Hospital. She worked at La Crosse Sportswear for 30 years. After retiring from La Crosse Sportswear, she went on to work for 15 years providing home healthcare with Lake Country Area Agency on Aging. “Aunt Dot” attended Southside Baptist Church of La Crosse for over 50 years and taught Sunday School there. She loved the Lord and was a Faithful Servant for over 50 years. She married Philip O. Medlin, Sr. on March 17, 1953. They remained married until his death on September 20, 1996. She is survived by her son, Philip O. Medlin, Jr. and his wife Tammy of La Crosse and her many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip O. Medlin, Sr.; her parents, Floyd and Estelle Edwards and her siblings: Chris Edwards, Maggie Anstead and George Edwards. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday December 1st, at 2:00 P.M. in Southside Baptist Church, La Crosse, VA with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 P.M. until service time in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southside Baptist Church at P.O. Box 295, La Crosse, VA 23950.
