Mr. James Leroy Hudson

Obituary:

James Leroy Hudson, age 78 of La Crosse, passed away May 20, 2026. He was one of seven children born to the late Charlie and Lillie Hudson and is also predeceased by his siblings, Haynie Hudson, Julie Bohanon, Shirley Batton, Katherine Hendricks, Mary Sue Yaws and Martha Hudson. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mabel Toone Hudson; a daughter, Pam Reese (Ben) of La Crosse; two sons, Keith Hudson of South Hill and Jeff Hudson (Tabatha) of La Crosse; 6 grandchildren, Kevin Reese(Amber),Marc Reese, Doug Reese, Jessica Sadler(Nick), Makayla Lafoon and Alexis Crews(Trey),5 great-grandchildren, Shane, Shyanne, Berkleigh, Briar and Everett; and his special dog and friend Trixie. James was a life-long member of the La Crosse Fire Department and member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. He was a skilled woodworker and an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. In lieu of flowers make donations to the Lacrosse Volunteer Fire Department. The Family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 5:00-6:30 in Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home.     Uncle Bubba, you will never know how much you meant to me. I cherish the many times you had taken me under your wing to teach me to fish and hunt. As an adult, when I go out fishing, I have very fond memories of you taking me as one of your own, as Pam, Keith, and Jeffery. You and Aunt Mable were my parents as well and I will always have fond, loving and everlasting love for both of you for the person you helped mold into the man I am today. I leave you with a heavy heart to to know I love you lots. Rest in peace
