Obituary:

Mr. Charlie Harvey Owen, age 74, of Brodnax, died Saturday May 9, 2020 in his home surrounded by his family. He was a retired cross-country truck driver. Mr. Owen is survived by his wife, Barbara H. Owen of Brodnax; his daughter, Stephanie Sears and her husband Michael of Shacklefords, VA; his two grandchildren: Ricky Lee Powell, Jr. of Hollywood, CA and Brandon Lee Powell and his wife Stacey of Lawrenceville and his great-grandson, Cameron Matthew Powell. The immediate family will be present in the funeral home on Sunday May 10th from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. for friends who wish to express their condolences. Due to covid-19 restrictions this will be limited to ten people at any one time and any who come are requested to wear a mask. A memorial service will be held at a later date in the Southside Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mr. Owen’s name may be made to the Southside Baptist Church at P.O. Box 295, La Crosse, VA 23950. Online condolences may be sent through our webpage, www.crowderhitecrews.com. Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory are serving the Owen family.
