Mrs. Ethel Louise Black Schmitt Hardy, age 71, of South Hill, died on Sunday May 30, 2021 in her home. She was the retired manager of the South Hill Family Dollar and had a love for little league baseball, crafts, game shows, reading and above all she loved her family. She was the widow of Anthony Schmitt and Fred Hardy. Mrs. Hardy is survived by her four sons: Karl Schmitt (Lisa), Donald Schmitt (Pam), Doug Schmitt and Jimmy Schmitt all of South Hill; her two stepsons: Paul Hardy (Megan) of Virginia Beach and Fred Hardy, Jr. of Swanzey, NH; her step-daughter, Deb Bourgoine (David) of Peterborough, NH; nineteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandkids; her two sisters: Ruth Berger (Denny) and Mary Ely (Chester) both of Waynesboro, PA; her brother, Keith Black (Carolyn) of Arendtsville, PA and her many loving nephews and nieces. Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Martha Black. Services will be private. Online condolences may be sent through our webpage, www.crowderhitecrews.com.
