A Good Man and A True Example
Mr. AmericanHorse was my criminal justice instructor, but he was so much more than that and to so many more people than me. Not a single day goes by without my being able to apply what he taught me. He was a good man and someone that is worthy of being recognized as a true example of what it means to put others above yourself, to lead others, to serve others, and to always do your best work, no matter how hard it may be. He was a teacher, mentor, and in many ways, a father figure to me. The stories I have, the interactions I had, and the lessons I’ve learned will never be forgotten and will be shared as his legacy continues with the impact of the students he poured so much of himself into each moment he had with them. I will always be grateful for the time God blessed me with to be able to know him. I pray for the family and all those who knew him and were privileged to have had him in their lives. May God bless you.
Heartfelt Sympathy
Mark was proud of his heritage and service but the thing he held dearest was his family. Holding you all in my heart and praying you find peace during this transition. Thank you for sharing him with the world.

I can’t begin to explain the impact you have had on this world. You inspired so many to do great things. One thing I have always carried with me is when you told me. maybe one person can’t change the world but you can make your corner of the world a better place. Through those words I’ve always pushed to do my best, refusing to give up when do many others would. All the lives I’ve improved was through your inspiration, all the lives all your other students have helped have been through you as well. I can’t imagine there aren’t many lives in this world that weren’t made better by you. We have lost an amazing man. Prayers for your family.

Mark, of all the blessings in my life, serving with you in 2nd Force Recon, and then knowing you for over four decades is among the greatest.

Friend , student
Mark was somebody who was very important to me and and special to me , who helped place the stepping stones for some of what I’ve done in life . He was a friend and a mentor and a special person to be around . His stories were amazing and he was an awesome teacher to me for years , even as years passed I found myself reading the book he had given to me with a handwritten note . He check in on me often just to see how I was doing . He got me out of my shell when I was an awkward kid and taught me so much , I wouldn’t have my work ethic , my persona without him. He will be sorely missed by everyone .I wouldn’t be where I was today without him and his guidance .
Mr AmericanHorse was my Criminal Justice instructor and a great man. He helped me make the decision to join the Marine Corps, and the first time I spoke to a recruiter was in his office. He was a great friend to everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
With Deepest Sympathy
Sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers during your time of loss.
